National Seminar at D. D. Jain College of Education

D. D. Jain College of Education organized National Seminar on “Attitude of Students and Teachers Educators towards two years Teacher Education Programme” in collaboration with College Development Council Panjab University, Chandigarh on Wednesday, 26th February, 2020. The Seminar covers a wide range of very interesting sub themes ranging from “Issues and Challenges in Teacher Education in India”, “Attitude of Students towards two years Teacher Education Programme” to “Attitude of Teacher Educators towards two years Teacher Education Programme” and any other relevant topic.
The resource persons for the seminar included Dr. Jatinder Grover, Dean Faculty of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh; Prof. Amit Kauts, Head and Dean Faculty of Education, GNDU, Amritsar and Prof. Kulwinder Singh, Department of Education and Community Services, Punjabi University, Patiala.
Dr. Vijay Laxmi, Principal of the College extended the welcome address to all the dignitaries, resource persons and Principals from the various Colleges on the behalf of President Mr. Nand Kumar Jain and all other members of the managing committee.
The Programme came to formal end with valediction ceremony and vote of thanks.

Dr. Ahuja apprised the side effect of junk food

An extension lecture on ‘Bone Health’ was organized at Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana by the Centre for Value Education on February 15, 2020. Dr. S.C. Ahuja, M.S. (Ortho), former Principal and Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital was the Keynote Speaker. Dr. Upma, MD (Dietician) also graced the occasion. 
The program started with invocation to the almighty by reciting Namokar Mantra followed by lamp lighting ceremony. Sh. Nand Kumar Jain, President of College Managing Committee along with other committee members and Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Sarita Bahl extended a warm welcome to all the guests. Dr. Ahuja apprised the students of the side effect of junk food. He said that the main reason behind many orthopaedic problems is junk food because it is the most unhealthy food. He discussed different types of food and its constituents. He advised the students to avoid junk food as it leads to many diseases and prefer traditional homemade food which is healthy, wholesome and balanced.
Dr. Upma also told the students that how by following a good and well-balanced diet chart, we can prevent many problems related to bones. She said that DIET actually means Do It Everyday with Tiny Details. She added that we can stay healthy by giving a little attention to the amount, time, frequency and the type of ingredients we eat everyday. 
Sh. Nand Kumar Jain (President, College Managing Committee) presented a vote of thanks to Dr. Ahuja and Dr. Upma for enlightening the students and the staff about various issues related to our life style and bone health. He said that the one thing which is generally neglected in today’s busy life is our health for which we have to pay heavy price. If we really want to enjoy life then instead of giving excuses, we should give priority to our health. Our young generation can contribute in nation building by being healthy.

Rajeev Jain, Manager Sh. Dharam Kirti Jain and Principal Dr. Sarita Bahl appreciated the efforts of the organizers, Dr. Ashu Beri (Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of Hindi) and Dr. Robina (Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of Economics) in arranging such a useful lecture and encouraged the staff to arrange such lectures in future also. The programme was concluded with National Anthem.

Free Medical check-up held at DD Jain College

Experts were hired by the Rotract club for the camp

The Centre for Value Education of Devki Devi Jain Memorial college for women, Ludhiana organized a free Medical check-up in collaboration with the Rotract club on February 8, 2020. This free medical check-up was open for students, teaching and non teaching staff of the college. A large number of people from outside the college also availed themselves of this free medical check. 
This Medical check-up included the Blood Pressure level and Bone Density check up. Mr. Ajit Kumar Yadav B.M.D Technician from Mumbai and Mr. Sanjeev Parmar ME/ALKEM were the experts hired by the Rotract club, RCL Greater. The experts gave the advice to everyone regarding the diets and prescribed some medicines also.

A visit to the Prachin Gaushalla by Students

Abiding by MHRD’S Institutional Innovation Council guidelines, members of Institutional Innovation Council of  Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana organized  a visit to the Prachin Gaushalla-2. The purpose of the visit entailed inculcating the sense of saving environment in the students. During the visit, the students witnessed the mechanism of converting cow dung into logs, which are sent to crematoriums in order to be used in place of wood, saving precious trees. The members of the council Asst. Prof. Rajwinder Kaur & Asst. Prof. Veenu Jain described the visit to be greatly motivating and shedding the light on innovative ways of saving environment.

Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College:Farewell Party

The canvas of Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana was painted with different hues of merrymaking, reminiscence and anticipation of future as the juniors bade farewell to their seniors. The cultural bonanza comprised songs, dances, fun games, choreography and the most coveted event ‘modeling’. Miss Angel Sharma was crowned as Miss Farewell and Mr. Gursharan Singh was adjudged as Mr. Farewell, whereas Miss Gayatri Kashyap and Mr. Nishant Bakhu bagged the title of Miss and Mr. Runner up. The function was presided over by Sh. Ashwani Jain (President of the college managing committee) and Dr.Janmit Singh (Principal of the college). Principal of the college, Dr. Janmit Singh congratulated the winners and lauded the efforts of the staff and students.

Panjab University: DD Jain College grabbed 1st position

Manpreet stood 1st in Panjab University

1st  Position in Panjab University Chandigarh grabbed by Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana. The students of  M.Sc.(IT)3rd  Semester made the institution DD Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana proud by securing various positions in Panjab University result of  December 2013. Manpreet stood 1st in Panjab University  by securing 81.6% marks, Jaspreet stood 4th  in Panjab University by securing 80.42% marks, Meenu stood 6th  in Panjab University by securing 79.4% and Srishti stood  8th  in Panjab University  by securing 79% marks.

DD Jain Women College Organized A National Seminar

A one day National Seminar on “Punjab During the Early Medieval Period: The Politico-Socio-Cultural Transitional Phase” sponsored by ICSSR, Panjab University, Chandigarh was organized at Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana on March 12, 2014. Ten papers were presented in two technical sessions.
The seminar began with ceremonial lighting of lamp and reciting of Namokar Mantra. A floral welcome was extended to the keynote speaker & chairperson of first technical session Dr. N.K. Ojha, Professor, Deptt. of A.I.H.C. & A., Panjab University, Chandigarh and chairperson of second technical session Dr. Ashvini Agarwal, Professor, Deptt. of A.I.H.C. & A., Panjab University, Chandigarh by Samaj Rattan Sh. Hira Lal Jain, Chairman of the college Managing Committee, Sh. Kedar Nath Jain President, Sh. Bipin Jain Secretary, Sh. Surinder Kumar Jain Manager, Sh. Raj Kumar Jain, Sh. Shanti Saroop Jain, Sr. Vice Presidents, Sh. Sheetal Kumar Jain Vice President and all the other worthy members of Managing Committee. In his keynote speech Dr. Ojha gave interesting insight into the political history, polity and economy of early medieval punjab and kind of religious cultural changes that transpired during the 6th -12th century.
Delegates presented papers on various sub themes including prevalence of untouchability status of women and shifting of political ideology in that age.
Dr. R.K. Sharma, Deptt. of Public Administration acted as the chief guest of valedictory session. All the guest were honoured by the members of Management Committee. Speaking on the occasion, college principal Dr. Sarita Bahl extended her gratitude to the guest for consenting to spare their time for the event. She also congratulated the members of organizing committee for putting in sincere efforts to make the seminar a success.
Seminar concluded with a valedictory report and distribution of certificates, followed by National Anthem.

DD Jain College for Women Celebrated Women Day

Kulwinder was adjudged Miss Farewell

Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women’s junior students organized a farewell party as a token of acknowledgement to parting final year students in the college campus on March 08, 2014.
The students of 3rd year participated in a modelling show dressed in graceful attires and were given various titles. A cultural programme by the 2nd year students got a thunderous response from the cheering audience. 
Professor Poonam Sareen and Professor Neelam Nayyar (Associate Professors in English) were honoured by the Management and Staff members for their invaluable contribution to the institution, about to retire this year.
College Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Sarita Bahl, speaking on this occasion, said that it was a special moment for all as these students were leaving the secure world of the college and stepping into competitive world. She emphasized that students should further enhance their knowledge by opting for higher studies.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included Samaj Rattan Sh. Hira Lal Jain, Chairman of the college Managing Committee, Sh. Kedar Nath Jain President, Sh. Bipin Jain Secretary, Sh. Surinder Kumar Jain Manager, Sh. Raj Kumar Jain, Sh. Shanti Saroop Jain, Sr. Vice Presidents, Sh. Sheetal Kumar Jain Vice President and all the other worthy members of Managing Committee conveyed their best wishes to the students.
Kulwinder was adjudged Miss Farewell. Heena was declared first runners up and Krishma second runners up. Other categories of awards included Jaspreet (Miss Beautiful Attire), Priya (Miss Beautiful Smile), Kajal & Jasmeet (Miss Beautiful Hair), Jasween (Miss Confident).
The event came to a conclusion with wishing the best of luck to the students for the forth-coming exams.

Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College: Athletic Meet

Flag unfurling ceremony by Mr.Rajinder Bhandari

Ludhiana:5th March 2014:(Punjab Screen Bureau):The first one day annual athletic meet at Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College commenced on 5th March 2014 with flag unfurling ceremony by the chief guest Mr.Rajinder Bhandari. The college principal , Dr. Janmit Singh in his welcome note towards the chief guests, Members of college managing committee and other dignitary personality discussed the annual academic and sports achievements of the students during the session. He also emphasized the importance of the sports in the life of a student as sports inculcate in them the quality of discipline and sportsmanship.   Mr. Gurdeep Singh of M.Com Ist took oath on behalf of the participants and colorful balloons were released. Fun events like three- legged race, spoon race, sack race and tug of war complemented the track and field events including races, long jump, shot put, discus throw and javelin throw during one day meet.

A game of musical chairs was also organized for the guests and college staff that added a fun element to the whole event

President of the college managing committee Sh. Ashwani Jain, Principal of the college, Dr.Janmit Singh, the Guest of honour Sh. Bimal Prakash Jain along with other managing committee members distributed the prizes among the winners and congratulated them.
The Guest of honour Shri. Bimal Prakash Jain concluded the meet with the flag lowering ceremony and he declared the meet close. At the end national anthem was sung.
