International Women Literary Festival at CTU

 Organised by KKK and CTU, Felicitated Literaturers from other States too


Ludhiana: 26th March 2022: (Education Screen Bureau)::

The literary body Kavita Katha Karvaan (Regd) (KKK) in collaboration with CT University (CTU) organized International Women Literary Fest-2022 at the CT University. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Charanjit Singh Channi, the Chancellor of CTU.  The Jagraon ADCP Rupinder Kaur was the Special Guest of Honour.

The programme started with the lighting of holy lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries that was followed by rendition of Saraswati Vandna song by SAroj Verma.  

Dr Jaspreet Kaur Falak, President of KKK welcomed all participants and provided introductory knowhow about the Organization KKK. She shared that KKK has now its Extension Counters in Canada and other States of India.

The CTU Vice Chancellor Dr Harsh Sadawarti said that today women have proven their worth in all walks of life and deserve all respect and recognition.

The Chief Guest and other dignitaries launched the book “Dishayen Gaa Uthi Hain” .

The Special Guest of Honour Rupinder Kaur appreciated women for demonstyrating their huge potential in varied fields and inspired them to act fearlessly with courage and contribute in their chosen field of activity as per their potential.

Maninder Gogia congratulated the organizers for holding the programme with a focus on women which are a significant segment of contemporary society.

In the Session on Women Empowerment, various aspects of the subject were discussed through lectures and poems. Dr Vandana Gupta (West Bengal), Prof Mangla Rani (Bihar), Dr Annapurna Sisodia (Madhya Pradesh), Sanyogita Kumari (New Delhi), Dr Ravinder Singh Chandi (Ludhiana), and Dr Jaspreet Kaur Falak (Ludhiana) presented their newly composed poems on women.

Dr Pravin Kumar (CT University) highlighted the role played by women in the area of sports and games and  expressed his gratitude to KKK for the selection of CTU as the venue for the event.

Dr Vandna Gupta (West Bengal) was presented the documents for her appointment as the Vice President of West Bengal Chapter of Kavita Katha Karvaan for the Session 2022-23.

In the Felicitation Session Dr Vandana Gupta (West Bengal) was presented with Subhadri Kumari Chauhan Memorial Award-2022, Prof Mangla Rani (Bihar) with Mannu Bhandari Memorial Award-2022, Dr Annapurna Sisodia (Madhya Pradesh) with Krishna Sobti Memorial Award-2022 and Sanyogita Kumari (New Delhi) with Mahadevi Verma Memorial Award-2022, in recognition of their significant contribution toward literature.

GCG's Mock Emergency Event

The intellectual students of Government College for Girls, Ludhiana took part in Mock Emergency Prime Minister Meeting , a conference organised by the Department of Public administration on 22 March 2022.   Conducted under the guidance of principal, Mrs. Suman Lata ,Vice Principal Mrs Kirpal Kaur, HOD Mrs. Baljit Kaur , and Assistant professor Mr. Dinesh Sharda, the agenda of the conference was India's national interest in International Relations with special reference to Russian-Ukrainian war. Ms. Japneet Kaur and Ms. Harsimar Kaur served as the moderator and deputy moderator respectively. The best delegate was awarded to Samridhi Kapila, High commendation to Richa Dem and Simarpreet Kaur and special mention to Swati Malhotra , Rishika Kriti and Gurleen Kaur . Overall it was an interactive and an informative session as the delegates/students discussed the various effects of the war on India and also some strategies to overcome the same . The event proved to be a successful one because of joint efforts of secretariat students, Ishpreet Kaur, Manveer Kaur, Gurpriya Kaur, Ashmeet Kaur , Sargun , Eva Arora and Karuna.
