Open School system admission started

Punjab School Education Board has started admission for 10th and 12th classes through Open School system for the session 2021-22. Interested students can seek admission online through Boards website by clicking ‘Open School’ link. Fees will only be deposited online directly to the Board. 

Last date for admission (without late fee) for Matriculation and Senior Secondary examination is 31-08-2021. Students/candidates should not pay any type of fee or funds except admission and examination fee. Prospectus for admission and other information for Matriculation and Senior Secondary level are available at website. Any change in dates or schedule shall be intimated through Public Notices or Press Notes. Syllabi for various subjects and classes may be downloaded from Board website www.pseb.ac.in only.

Learning is a never-ending process and in the times of pandemic it has undergone a paradigm shift in terms of transaction of knowledge. At a time when the students are away from school campus and can’t have hands on experience in the Science Labs, efforts of Shiksha Rattan Dr. Jaswinder Singh have come as a ray of light in the lives of the students. Dr. Jaswinder Singh’s Moving Lab is taking labs to the students to help them gain in depth knowledge of various concepts.

It was a proud privilege for the teachers and students of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, when they got an opportunity to interact with him and see him perform complex science practicals in an interesting and easy to comprehend way for concept clarity. Dr. Jaswinder Singh strongly believes that practical knowledge holds a significant place in teaching of science and feeling the need for the same he has converted his own car into a mobile science lab and takes his car to carry out practicals wherever needed.

The teachers and the students felt greatly motivated to see him perform practicals and learnt a lot through the explanation given by him. The students felt empowered and the teachers resolved to make best use of the online labs to make the concepts easily understandable.

Principal Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu thanked Dr. Jaswinder Singh and added that his infectious zeal for experiments would further ignite the spark in the teachers to make practicals an integral part of the teaching learning process in the larger interest of the student community.

‘Newspaper Craft Activity’ at BCM Arya School Lalton

BCM Arya School, Lalton organized an online ‘Newspaper Craft Activity’ for the students of classes I to V. Students were supposed to use old newspapers to design and create some useful and beautiful decorative items. Some of the creations included pencil holder, well, flower vase, flowers, photo frame, toys, butterflies, wall hangings, clock, paper bags, serving tray etc.The best item was working newspaper model of well and swing. Many children prepared party props keeping in view the upcoming festival season.

Lecture on “Cyber Crime” by DD Jain College of Education

D. D. Jain College of Education organized an Extension Lecture on “Cyber Crime” through virtual mode for students and teachers on July 20, 2021 in the afternoon session. Mr. Pawan Kumar, In-charge Cyber Unit-1, Ludhiana was the chief guest on the occasion. S. Jujhar Singh and Ms. Harkiran Kaur were the guests of honour.

Dr. Vijay Laxmi accorded the warm welcome to all the distinguished guests on the behalf of President Mr. Nand Kumar Jain and all other members of the managing committee.

Mr. Pawan apprised all about the latest trends in cyber-crimes and the various preventive measures to be adopted to prevent those. He stressed upon the increasing rate of various kinds of cyber-crimes among women folk. He very beautifully elaborated the various immediate actions to be taken to minimize the loss. 

S. Jujhar Singh apprised all about the kind of crimes happening on various social media and provided the alternative ways to prevent all those. Further, Ms. Harkiran suggests the students to not to share any personal pic to anyone else or even there in the closest group too. 

At the last but not the least the various queries of the students and teachers were satisfied by the expert personnel and formal vote of thanks was presented.
