The District Administration is all set to provide free online coaching to jobless youth for competitive exams under Punjab Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Karobar Mission.

Deputy Commissioner Sh Girish Dayalan said the state Government had decided to impart online training for several competitive exams ranging from SSC, bank PO/clerical, RRB, CET, PPSC PSSSB and to other departmental exams to at least one lakh youths. He said the 2nd batch for online coaching for the post of police constable and clerical posts was expected to begin shortly. The Candidates must have completed their graduation for registering themselves for clerical batch, while Class XII passed aspirants could apply for the batch of police constable recruitment.

The DC further added that the aspirant candidates could apply for these classes by login the website https://www.eduzphere.com/freegovtexams to avail the benefit. He said graduates of all streams can apply for these classes, adding that undergraduates may enroll themselves for the classes.

Mr. Dayalan also mentioned that the coaching will be provided by a subject-specialist teacher who is proficient in English, Hindi and Punjabi as per the syllabus of the competitive exam. The coaching will be provided through an online platform which will be streamed live all over the state and candidates can access the lectures through desktops/laptops and Smartphone's, he added.

The DC said candidates can have access to live recorded lectures for revision for one year and eight months after the completion of their coaching. Further, the candidates will be provided with content, videos, notes and other study material followed by regular practice and mock tests. He said the duration of a batch will be of minimum four months and coaching would be conducted in two sessions of 1.30 hours and six day in a week.

 Now spending their time at isolation centre

In view of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, the Punjab government has brought several Punjabis, who were stuck in other parts of the country, safely back home. Such persons have been kept in the isolation centres set up by the Punjab government so that they do not come in direct contact with other people as well as their family members.

On one side, some persons are intentionally ignoring the directions of the Punjab government and trying to make issues out of non issues, but on the other hand, the students who have returned from Kota (Rajasthan) are spending their time at isolation centre by studying and other constructive activities. These students are presently housed at the Parker House inside Punjab Agricultural University, here. 

It is pertinent to mention that 22 students (all hailing from district Ludhiana) are housed in separate rooms, here, and they include 8 girls and 14 boys. They are staying here for the last around 10 days. These students said that they do not waste their time inside this isolation centre because neither can they go out nor can meet their family members, so they are spending their time by studying and other constructive activities.

A student named Ashish Rana said that earlier he used to spend most of his time studying, but now he has a lot of extra time, that he is using by reading holy Bhagavad Gita because it gives him mental peace. All the students also thanked the Punjab government for bringing them safely back home and providing them home and hostel like atmosphere at this isolation centre. They also appealed to other people staying in isolation centres to spend their time in constructive activities and by keeping a positive mind.

Mr Kulpreet Singh, Joint Commissioner MC-cum-Nodal Officer of this Isolation Centre, said that the students are very happy with the kind of facilities being provided to them. He said that as per the guidelines of the Punjab government, they are being provided food three times daily, along with other facilities. He said that they also interact with the students from time to time. He said that parents of 2-3 children came to meet them, but they were not allowed. He said that some students had asked for some books, that have been provided to them.
