GCG Ludhiana organizes freshers party for new students

Who knows how many students have reached high positions after studying from this college. The memories of all of them are also in the campus of this college. The walls and trees of the college remind us all. The rooms of this college still hold many memories. Similarly, there are new hopes too.

Just two days ago, on 21 August 2025, a grand freshers party was organized at Government College for Girls Ludhiana under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Suman Lata ji to welcome the new students. Principal Madam attended this party as the chief guest. She congratulated the students and wished them success in future. On this occasion, the students performed cultural programs as well as ramp walk and talent show, which added new colors to the celebration. In this fresher party, Siddhisha Bhandari (Miss Fresher), Manya Jhaam (First Runner-up), Tanveer (Second Runner-up) were selected. Along with this, Rishika Naib, Jaspreet Kaur, Chanchal, Anna, Prabhjot and Bhoomi were given special titles. The role of judges was played by Mrs. Mandeep Kaur, Mrs. Kamaldeep Kaur and Dr. Manisha.

The chief guest, Principal Madam blessed the students with her motivational words. On this occasion, cultural programs, ramp walk and talent show were organized, which added colors and energy to the celebration. The coveted titles went to Siddhisha Bhandari (Ms. Freshers), Maniya Jhaam (1st Runner-up), Tanveer (2nd Runner-up) along with special titles to Rishika Naib, Jaspreet Kaur, Chanchal, Anna, Prabhjot and Bhoomi. The event was a grand success with the presence of judges Mrs. Kamaldeep Kaur, Mrs. Mandeep Kaur and Dr. Manisha and the smooth coordination of the Head of the Department Mrs. Sarita Khurana.

Hands-on Fire Safety Workshop at KCW

Department of Chemistry, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized a Hands-on Fire Safety Workshop in collaboration with KP Fire Safety Solutions. The workshop was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about fire hazards in laboratories and equipping students with practical knowledge on the safe handling of fire extinguishers and other preventive measures. The session was facilitated by Mr. Pankaj Maini who demonstrated various types of fire extinguishers and explained their appropriate usage in different fire situations. Students and faculty members actively participated in the workshop, learning how to respond promptly and effectively during fire emergencies.

The workshop highlighted the importance of preparedness, presence of mind and adherence to safety protocols in preventing accidents and ensuring a safe laboratory environment. The initiative taken by the Department of Chemistry was highly appreciated by madam Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal who motivated students to participate in more such workshops that can instill confidence among them to tackle unforeseen emergencies.
